Superintendent - NYCHA Location: Brooklyn, NY Compensation
Range: $190,000 – $270,000 Base Salary Overview A well established
real estate development and construction organization is seeking an
experienced Superintendent to lead largescale affordable housing
projects in New York City, including one of NYCHA's largest
contracts to date. This role is ideal for an assertive field leader
who thrives in fast paced environments, values collaboration, and
consistently delivers high quality projects safely, on time, and
within scope. The Sr Superintendent will oversee daily field
operations, coordinate trade partners, and ensure construction is
executed in accordance with project documents, schedules, and
regulatory requirements. What You’ll Do Lead all onsite
construction activities from mobilization through project closeout.
Manage project schedules in coordination with the project team and
trade partners. Oversee quality control programs to ensure work
aligns with plans and specifications. Coordinate subcontractors,
consultants, inspectors, and vendors to maintain workflow and
productivity. Monitor safety compliance and address non-conforming
conditions proactively. Track daily progress using project
management software and reporting tools. Identify conflicts in
scope, schedule, or field conditions and collaborate on
resolutions. Review drawings and documents to understand design
intent and flag constructability issues. Manage inspections, punch
lists, and turnover activities. Lead regular coordination meetings
with trade partners and internal stakeholders. Ensure manpower,
materials, equipment, and site logistics support the construction
plan. Support project planning, closeout documentation, and
post-completion activities as needed. What We’re Looking For NYC
Licensed Superintendent (DOB). 10 years of superintendent
experience on complex residential or mixed-use projects. Background
in interior renovation, affordable housing, or large-scale
residential construction preferred. Strong knowledge of
construction means and methods, sequencing, and safety standards.
Familiarity with union, non-union, and prevailing wage
environments. Ability to interpret construction documents, safety
plans, and project schedules. Strong leadership, communication, and
problem-solving skills. Comfortable managing large trade teams and
coordinating multi-discipline scopes. Knowledge of local, state,
and federal construction regulations. Highly organized with the
ability to prioritize, delegate, and multitask in the field.
Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management,
Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Compensation &
Benefits Base salary range: $190,000 – $270,000 , depending on
