At 160 Driving Academy , we are hiring a Lead CDL A Instructor to mentor instructors, oversee student training, and ensure high-quality instruction . In this role, you will guide both instructors and students , helping them succeed in the trucking industry. With 150 locations across 43 states , we offer career stability and opportunities for leadership growth within our network of schools. Responsibilities Mentor and support instructors to ensure effective and engaging training. Oversee student training by leading pre-trip inspections, yard skills, and road driving instruction . Emphasize safety and professionalism in all aspects of training. Monitor student progress and assist instructors in preparing students for their CDL exams. Track training effectiveness and provide feedback to improve instruction. Maintain proper documentation , including student evaluations and training records. Work collaboratively with other instructors to provide an effective training experience. Preferred Qualifications (Not Required) Leadership experience. Experience mentoring or training instructors and students. Driver Training Instructor certification ( If required by the state, we provide guidance and support to help you obtain this certification. ) Knowledge of FMCSA and CDL training standards. Ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles. What We Offer Local, steady work schedule with no overnight travel. Hourly pay ranging from $30 to $32 based on experience. Basic computer skills to track student progress and scheduling.
