Job Description Job Description /n Performs complete
audiological evaluations for all age groups including special
evaluations. Ensures fit of amplification devices and
appropriateness of rehabilitative services. Provides counseling to
patients and their families. /n Job Responsibility /n /n /n -
Administers examinations including detailed questionnaire and
battery of tests to evaluate auditory and vestibular system; reads,
interprets, prepares and sends tracings to referring physician. /n
- Prepares reports on diagnostic findings; ensures reports are
distributed appropriately and confidentially as authorized by
patient or patient’s family. /n - Administers wide variety of
audiological tests to determine patient’s hearing level and most
likely site of damage to auditory system; anticipates degree of
social disability due to hearing loss, predicts potential benefits
to hearing aid use and/or special training. /n - Counsels patient
and family regarding results of testing and recommendations;
confers with medical staff regarding audiological and vestibular
problems and makes recommendations regarding appropriate patient
referral and management. /n - Provides counseling to patients and
their families. /n - Schedules and provides cochlear implant
services, when provided by business unit. /n - Monitors inventory
and initiates replacement orders to maintain operating supply
level; ensures supplies are properly stored. /n - Provides didactic
and practical in-service training to residents and medical students
and other hospital staff. /n - Participates in research,
conferences, and meetings. /n - Performs related duties as

functions. /n /n Job Qualification /n /n /n - Master's Degree
required, or equivalent combination of education and related
experience. /n - Current License to practice as an Audiologist in
New York State, and Current Clinical Competence - AUD (ASHA)
Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
/n - 1-3 years of relevant experience, required. /n - Flexibility
to work with multiple practices/sites. /n - Availability for
Saturday's as needed. /n /n *Additional Salary Detail /n The salary
