Telemetry Tech Location: Astoria, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,775 per week Shift Information: 5 days x 7 hours Contract Duration: 9 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Telemetry Technician Profession: Technician Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 9 months Shift: 3PM - 11PM or 11PM - 7AM, 5 days per week Hours per Shift: 7.5 Experience: Minimum years of experience in a relevant role required License: Required Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Dysrhythmia Course Certifications: Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by an authorized organization, Dysrhythmia certification also required Must-Have: EKG certification preferred Description: Provide advanced ECG monitoring while assessing patient status through ECG strip analysis and arrhythmia interpretation. Identify and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes. Initiate codes and record rhythms during codes. Perform continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias. Troubleshoot monitoring problems and respond appropriately to all monitor alarms. Perform electrocardiograms in multiple settings including proper electrode placement. Communicate appropriately and clearly with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians. Enter and verify orders in the computer system. Retrieve laboratory results from the computer system and bring results to the attention of the charge nurse. Ensure documentation meets current standards and organizational policies. Manage and operate monitoring and medical equipment safely and correctly. Dysrhythmia certification is required. Experience must include working directly as a Telemetry Technician or Monitor Tech. MS Office Suite proficiency required.
