POSITION SUMMARY The Duties of the Forklift Operator include but are not limited to supplying various production areas with new product, removing finished product and general clean up. Requirements: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supply production lines with raw product and other needed production material Removal of finished product Clean up Removal of trash Responsible for keeping production lines with needed product and material Follows safety policies and procedures including safe power equipment operations Follows all company policies Works overtime as required Other duties assigned REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING This position requires 1-2 years of experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS One plus year prior warehouse/stocking/forklift experience Ability to operate a manual/powered pallet jack or lift product Demonstrated attention to detail Forklift certification is required Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members WORKING CONDITIONS Onsite position in a warehouse and production environment Operation of powered industrial equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks Exposure to cleaning and sanitation chemicals (e.g., chlorine) Exposure to product fumes such as onions, peppers, and other produce Required to follow all safety policies and procedures, including safe operation of power equipment Required to work overtime as business needs dictate Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Frequent sitting while operating forklifts and powered equipment Frequent use of hands for firm grasping and equipment controls Repetitive use of feet to operate power equipment Frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing 5 to 50 pounds Occasional to frequent walking and standing Occasional to frequent kneeling, squatting, and reaching above shoulder level Occasional repetitive hand motions COMPANY BENEFITS/PERKS 401(k) Health, Dental, Vision Insurance and more Paid Time Off (PTO) The company (Pero) reserves the right to alter, amend, expand or contract these duties and responsibilities as the companies needs evolve.
